LET'S TALK! Mental Health, Drug Addiction & Prevention in our Community

The Crown Harriston and Tailored Films invites you to a special interactive discussion and film screening. Hosted by filmmaker and drug awareness advocate Chad Tailor. With partners from The Mount Forest Family Health Team, The Grove Youth Hub, and AlphaHouse. The discussion will touch on mental health, drug addiction and prevention in our community and participants will have the chance to ask questions and get in on the conversation.

Following the discussion there will be a 10th Anniversary screening of A DONE DEAL.

The short film A Done Deal is based mainly on the filmmaker’s true story. From a chapter of his life when he lived with a meth addiction, and was filmed in Harriston in 2013 as his thesis project for film school. Chad has is very open with his past struggle with drug addiction and recovery. Sharing his story with students, organizations, and communities. He continues to be an advocate for drug awareness, mental health, and recovery. Over the last decade Chad resides in Toronto, Ontario. Where he is an accredited acting and film coach with the A.A.C.E., faculty and alumni of Toronto Film School. Pursues acting, and runs his own film company Tailored Films. He is currently celebrating his 14th year recovery from methamphetamine.

Film Synopsis: Dylan, a young man in his mid-twenties, has been addicted to using methamphetamine for the last 5 years. Estranged from his family and all but a few friends, his addiction begins to take over his everyday life. He tries to reach out to his long-time friend but instead, chasing his next fix, makes a deal with his source which sends him spiraling further into the darkness.

Trigger warnings: Film contains; depictions of drug use, mature language, and violence. Parental discretion is advised for any minors.
