Description
The classic song and Parisian setting provide the perfect backdrop for this romantic favorite. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's "Babylon Revisited", this movie tells the story of a writer (van Johnson) who is in Paris to cover the end of World War II and falls in love with the beautiful Helen Ellswirth (Elizabeth Taylor) following a brief flirtation with her sister, Marion (Donna Reed). After he and Helen marry, Charles pursues his novelistic ambition while supporting his new bride with a deadening job at a newspaper wire service. But when an old investment suddenly makes the family wealthy, their marriage begins to unravel -- until a sudden tragedy changes everything. A true romantic classic.

In this monster classic Lon Chaney Jr. embodies Larry Talbot, who returns to Wales when his brother dies and reconciles with his father (Claude Rains). While there, he visits an antique shop and, hoping to impress the attractive shopkeeper Gwen (Evelyn Ankers), buys a silver walking cane and succeeds. That same night he kills a wolf with it, only to later learn that he actually killed a man (Bela Lugosi). Tortured by his action, a gypsy (Maria Ouspenskaya) explains that it was her son, a werewolf, that he killed, and that Larry is now one himself.
